Northeast Ohio's foremost talent consulting agency! Theme Parties I hope this little note finds its reader happy and well. First, I want to thank you for looking into The Summit Entertainment Consultants for your entertainment needs. I hope we can make your event the most memorable one your guests have ever attended. I also hope that then we can continue to provide you with great entertainment and stay within your price range for all of your future needs. Having the responsibility for planning an event is very time consuming and quite a bit of stress. Please, always let us help, that is where we shine. We can make your ideas a reality. We like to get started with our contributions to any event as soon as the need for our services is confirmed. This gives everyone time to hone the show and promote the event. So, though this page might seem a bit long, please take some time and look over all of these ideas, they might kindle ideas of your own where we may be able to help. If none of these "trip your trigger", give us some of your ideas and we'll make them happen. We have produced events for the Ohio State Nursing Association, The John S. Knight Center, Crooked River (of course), Every year for The Hilton, Shady Hollow, Rain Tree, Arrowhead, Twin Oaks, Prestwick, Many of the rubber Companies, Small Business News, and most of the community events in this and surrounding areas. They all seem to be a lot of fun but it and we always get referrals from the management. All of the above have requested our services for following years: 5 years at Shady Hollow, 7 at Arrowhead, 5 at the Hilton, etc. Try the Tropical Wedding Reception Theme The Hollywood Oscars (awards) Party This one has a few great props. - 12' high movie reels, 2 12' high Oscars, 12' high clap board, about 35 feet of 24' 35mm film, movie reels as centerpieces, a lighted marquee for announcements, a very elaborate star studded entrance way, and 6 and 8 foot pillars with 4 foot loaded movie reels on the top. All this touched off with balloon bouquet's, Hollywood posters, and life size cutouts of the celebrities that all this was built for. We can have celebrity look-a- likes attend your events and provide the MC and entertainers that will make this come alive. Call us for more info.
Around the World Theme One of the ideas that is always fun is the "Around The World" theme. It revolves mostly around sampling food from other countries. While describing it, I will include a sample of how we price the items, just to give you an idea of the kind of pricing you will receive for every item before you actually sign a contract. Entertainment: Though entertainers are not always needed to make an event a success I am including the way we use music to enhance the feel of each of the different country "stations" at this and other events. We sometimes use "Rex" , a solo piano man with computer back up, to perform songs from each of the stations. We have each "station" wired so that when REX is playing a French song, it comes through the speakers at the France station, etc. There are CDs available for your approval. Rex sounds like a full band and can perform just about any song ever written. He will provide a master of ceremonies type of function along with his performance. His price for the full event would be $800.00. This might seem a little high for a single act but with his professional disc jockey background and the way he handles a crowd the price is low. Our idea is for Rex to coordinated songs to match when each of the "stations" listed below as they are illuminated in sequence. We can also provide, back up and "special guests" (each at $100 for their appearance) - Frank Sinatra USA- (Steve Sterling) who will also do Engleburt Humperdink -Great Britain- , Elton John (Walt Wise), Gene Farrari - Italy / Spain, Heedy Miyahara - Japan, Pedro Toledo - Mexico/ Spain, Bob Goodman Ireland / Scotland (bag pipes). We could continue for any country you should want to include. However "Rex" is capable of performing any of the tunes for each station solo. All of this could also be done with a DJ (Denny Merridith or Jeff Brandon) for from $200 to $450.00 It is also possible to delete all of the entertainment and just go with the stations and decorations. These are just examples of our themes,. We can add to or subtract from any of the below: The same can be done for any country you wish to include; it looks like each country will be around $200 give or take a little. Lighting for stations includes colored flood lights which can be switched on as at the proper time for each presentation of foods or deserts. Sound equipment provided by entertainers unless you decide to just use CDs which we can provide for each country. In which case we can provide an adequate pa system to fit any size event. We can provide a gang plank at the entrance to your room as if you were disembarking from a ship into foreign ports. We can provide shipping crate with your logo stenciled on the sides with the different countries destinations. ACADEMY AWARDS THEME THIS ONE IS ALWAYS A HIT !!!Here is an idea for the Academy Awards; We have a replica of the MGM lion for the entrance to your event, Two 8' Oscars, Small Oscars as centerpieces for the tables, replicas of old time movie cameras, a 15 foot strip of the hand prints from Hollywood Blvd. and life-size cut-outs of many stars. We suggest helium balloons on the ceiling with silver stars dangling from them. {picture enclosed}. We also have two giant stars which are lit with rope lights that are quite impressive. These are just the main decorations. After picking a theme we can elaborate. RIVERBOAT THEME The United States is the only country that has true riverboats. It is also quite patriotic. Riverboats are usually painted in the stars and stripes colors and configurations. Perhaps that would be a perfect color scheme for the event. There seems to be a resurgence in patriotism in past few years. If the red, white, and blues meet with your approval, we have some ideas we think are pretty cool and less expensive than having the same things in other colors. I will enclose a few pictures to reinforce our thoughts about the decorations. Upon entering your event, your guests will cross over the gang plank decorated with steamers and perhaps a little white lattice. They will pass by dock pilings, cargo nets and the like on their approach to the front desk which will have the red, white, and blue, half circle bunting (picture enclosed). Garden torches would work well for this event around the gang plank, held up with buckets of sand. We have small life preservers will work well with this theme. In the lobby will be a riverboat style shipping yard atmosphere. Shipping crates will be stenciled Natchez & New Orleans, etc. A crawdad trap or two and fish nets may be sitting around as well as a few fruit and vegetable crates. Many nautical theme items are available and we will try to put them to their best use. We have a 42 inch ships captain statue, that I think adds a nice touch. We have a pair of really nice brass port holes that might ad more realism if placed at the entrance and we'll add a little steamboat signage. This year 4 foot standing storks are available. They actually have feathers and look very life-like. Again, to give that around the water feel. Also a flat bottom boat that looks pretty cool. It would be possible to have an upright or player piano delivered to the game room with or without a honky tonk piano player. We could just as well have CDs with the old south piano music in the background. We could also put a mannequin of a riverboat style piano player in front of the piano while the CDs play the music. In the TV series Maverick and Bat Masterson, both set on riverboats, there was always a gun fight about a card game. It is possible to supply you with a couple of actors from the murder mystery team that we book (either in costume or dressed as one of your guests) to place into your crowd and have a little theatrical gun fight in a corner of the room a couple of times during the evening for a little excitement. We would let the crowd know that something was going to happen during the night so that they would be expecting something theatrical and wouldnt be frightened thinking it was a real fight. WESTERN THEME In the western theme we would provide decorations such as cactus, perhaps a few hey bails, and a couple of wagon wheels. The greeters would be dressed in western outfits (vests, cowboy hats, boots, etc.). The entire room could be set up as a western style saloon. We have giant cowboy boots, giant cowboy hats, and life-size cut outs of John Wayne, cigar store native-Americans and a donkey to set around as decorations. We suggest "The Last Chance Band", "Heartland", or "Cactus Canyon" for the event at a price well under $1000. They are a large groups with a fiddle and can perform in western outfits and play all of the common country western tunes. There are quite a few tunes that will accommodate square dancing and we have a group called the "YaHoos" that will perform square dancing and teach your guests this dance that will be SURE to bring laughter and fun to the night. The servers will be serving your selection of cattle drive and country social goodies. It works just as well without the band. MURDER MYSTERY THEME The Murder Mystery show brings with it excitement and crowd involvement. I can testify that the murder mystery with your crowd seeded with four to ten of our actors would be a hit. MEDIEVAL DINNER SHOW Another thought is our medieval dinner show. The show has authentic dress with jugglers, fire eaters, King Henry the eighth, a dulcimer player, string quartet, singers, heralds, and puppets for the children. If this sounds like fun, we have a few pictures and their music to send to you. Naturally we could decorate with a thirty two foot castle and other realistic regalia. CRUISE SHIP THEME We can also decorate the room to look like a cruise ship and you could add "be part of the cruise" or something like that to your literature about the event. We would again use the nautical theme adding port holes to the walls and piped in sounds of shipping and sea gulls through our PA our an internal PA system. This theme can be as elaborate as your mind can make it. It can even be called the Titanic trip. We will supply the icebergs and life boat. MUSIC THEME The next theme revolves around different styles of music in different locations or eras. Each area, in this case, would be decorated to reflect a specific type of music. Our first ideas on this theme would include a 50's room, a Caribbean room, a Motown room, The Rock Hall Of Fame room, the big band or swing room, and the country music room. I will break those down for you below. Please note that some of the items such as balloons will be used for either set up so the prices will be mentioned only once. I can't really give you a total package price until you decide on exactly how extensive you want the decorations and naturally, which theme you would like. We could conceivably do the two large rooms in gambling and the four smaller rooms with music themes or any combination. Just look it over and let us know what you think. The pictures of this event designed with either theme, come together in our imaginations, to be a very memorable event for all who attend. That's what we always strive for. OLDIES THEME An "oldies" theme with juke box, games, and other nostalgic goodies. We can supply large cut outs of 45 rpm records to decorate walls. Centerpieces can also be made of old 45s and balloons. Balloons galore were always used as decorations in the fifties. Streamers and balloons can be added to give the room the "homecoming dance" feel. We have cardboard cutouts of 50s style juke boxes or real juke boxes. We can supply 2 sets of 2' x 2' fuzzy dice. We have a rotating color wheel to send color spots on the walls. Blow ups of yearbook pictures from the fifties can be placed around the room. (We can use your guests yearbooks for this, if you choose). We have a soda fountain set up that looks just like the one "down at the corner store". Subliminal high school fight songs, and other nostalgic music can be played through a hidden pa system. If you choose the 50s theme we can find many more nostalgic item by next year. As for the games. we have several of the old style pinball machines with buzzers and lights and NO VIDEO SCREEN. We also have the old fashion " slider bowling alley" reminiscent of the "coner stores" we all used to hang out at. and a "Twister" game that is permanently mounted. We could also set up like a carnival with tents around the room housing games like "break the balloons", "ring toss", "knock over the milk bottles", etc. In this case an actor would be hired for each spot to entice you guests to play. The above could be added to the 50s theme or it could stand alone. With Swing music played by a The Gene Fiocca Big Band, WWII nostalgia surrounding the venue, everyone dressed in 40's getup. We need to discuss it for you to get the full impact. Mardi Gras or CARNIVAL- as in the Caribbean. Again it needs to be discussed, but I can tell you, with a great Latin band, giant 8 ft. masks, backdrops and lighting. The festival atmosphere will be at your event. This is one everyone will remember. We can provide audio and video recordings of our local and national acts as well as pictures of all of the equipment listed above. Tropical events, to roaring twenty's. Sit back and think what your guests would remember the most. We want the to continuously think positively about the Rubber & Plastics News. Then, lets go for it. We help in any way we can with promotion and advertising if you feel it is needed. CASINO THEME CHECK THIS OUT !!!! Many of our packages, because they are so much fun, are built around a faux casino and for good reason. Because there are so many familiar casino themes from Las Vegas, Atlantic City, Toronto, and River Boats, many styles of props can be used and in addition to the decorations there is something for your guests to actually do. These events are always fun whether or not their winning can be redeemed for gifts. One of these shows could easily be tied to the Academy Awards theme you mentioned. I will address that later in this letter but first I'll tell you about our casino. Unlike some of the "Monte Carlo Night" suppliers, we have the real gambling tables used at real casino. There is just a different feel about playing on real oak than on plywood, and with knowledgeable dealers and not folks who mean well but don't really know how to get the most fun out of the games. I will include a few pictures of ours and some for comparison. The casino can be as large or a small as you would like. We can help guide you to the number of games you need for the number of guests you expect. EXAMPLE CASINO: (NORMAL PRICES FOR CASINO SHOWN. PRICES VARY DEPENDING UPON AVAILABILITY) "Faux Casino": Twenty blackjack tables with dealers Two 60" money wheels with dealers Four Caribbean Stud poker table with dealers Two "Let It Ride" table with dealers One Mahogany roulette wheel, table and 2 dealers One 12' craps tables with 3 dealers (8' - 2 dealers) One extra dealer to rotate (Pit Boss) play money * All dealers will be dressed Las Vegas style. Price for this package: $4550.00 +extra play money This could be dressed up in many styles described below. GAMBLING AREA It seems, from our library research on the riverboats, that the gambling areas were kind of gaudy. They were sort of Gothic in nature, with a lot of pillars, lace, chandeliers, gold, and flash. All this would be a bit hard to duplicate on a small budget but could be substituted for with a different kind of glitz. If we were to put in about 500 red white and blue balloons with streamers, decorated the walls with the large playing cards illuminated by colored flood lights, used multiple strings of the small clear Christmas tree lights, and used decorative objects like the giant dice we would be well on our way at relatively small cost. The gambling equipment itself is decoration and the equipment we have this year is very classy. We could supply the red, white, and blue bow ties for the dealers in addition to your staff but that could get a little expensive. Becky has designed centerpieces using 7inch playing cards and flaring plumes. They look great on a table with a little glitter.
We have just been contacted by a provider of slot machines, modern Las Vegas style machine. They are very flashy. Their price is $75 per day for rental and there are eight available. One person to make change and be on hand for malfunctions is required at a regular cost of $75. Therefore the first machine would be $150 and $75 for each additional machine. Again, they are flashy and a nice touch but only one player at a time. The machine and player double as decoration BUT is it worth the extra expense? We can also simulate Caesar's Palace Casino, right down to the actors in togas. We will attempt to duplicate any of the famous casinos. For larger events when several rooms are used we came up with a couple of other themes, let's look at a slight change to the CASINO idea first. With this idea the same general theme would run through all six rooms. We would however give a special variation of the theme in each. For example, one room could have a riverboat entrance, another The MGM lion, pillars for Caesar's Palace, etc. Another idea, however, is to have each entrance decorated by a specific type of gambling. For example, at one entrance a mannequin could be behind a table with the hidden pea game, the next room slot machines at the entrance, the next a money wheel, the next black jack, another with craps tables, and the last with a roulette wheel. All of these would be decorated with other gambling paraphernalia as described below. BOOT CAMP THEME: you have to see it to believe it!!!
